Taking flight together: Delta takes small businesses to new heights

Small Business Month, celebrated every May, shines a spotlight on the profound impact small businesses have on our communities and economy every day. These enterprises are the heartbeat of creativity, innovation and local development. At Delta Air Lines, our unwavering commitment to small businesses is not just a seasonal focus but a year-round mission.
From the suppliers we work with to modernize airport infrastructure and cater onboard food and beverage services to SkyMiles for Business, the carefully curated business travel program designed to support companies at any size, our initiatives are designed to empower small enterprises. These efforts foster economic growth and create a ripple effect of positive change that resonates across communities.
By the numbers: Accelerating small business growth
At Delta, we recognize small businesses serve as the focal point of the communities we serve. By investing in them, we aim to create a diverse and dynamic marketplace where individuals can access meaningful career paths, develop new skills and achieve professional aspirations.
In 2023 alone, Delta invested over $1 billion directly with small businesses, supporting nearly 3,500 jobs and contributing over $280 million toward incomes. These investments underscore our belief in the boundless potential of small businesses to spark innovation and build stronger communities.
New enhancements: SkyMiles for Business
As the first U.S. airline to provide a small business loyalty program with no minimum travel or spend requirements, Delta's SkyMiles for Business program offers small and mid-size businesses tools and rewards that benefit the company and their travelers and supports every stage of the business journey. By participating in SkyMiles for Business, small businesses can reduce travel costs while elevating the travel experience.
NEW: As a new addition to the SkyMiles for Business Program, travel agencies can now apply eCredits toward the cost of tickets for our mutual customers in the Global Distribution System (GDS). This enhancement provides greater flexibility and financial support, ensuring travel agencies can continue to thrive and serve their customers effectively.
“At Delta, we truly believe in the power of small businesses and the incredible impact entrepreneurs can make,” said Bob Somers, Senior Vice President of Global Sales at Delta Air Lines. “That’s why we’re enhancing our SkyMiles for Business program—to give our customers more flexible ways to use their earned benefits. Whether you're a Corporate Travel Manager or part of a Travel Agency that supports business travelers, our goal is to make sure you have the tools and support you need to succeed in today’s fast-moving world.”

Small business partners highlight: in the air and on the ground
Une Femme: Sonoma, California
Une Femme, a women-owned and women-made wine brand, continues to reach new heights through its partnership with Delta Air Lines while bringing exceptional wines to customers around the globe. Co-founded by Jen Pelka, Une Femme's flagship wines, The Betty (sparkling brut) and The Callie (sparkling rosé), became available on Delta flights in 2022. This collaboration has enabled Une Femme to scale nationally, culminating in the launch of their first-ever still wines. The Chardonnay and Red Wine Blend cans became available onboard at the beginning of 2025.
“When we celebrate, support and inspire one another, glass ceilings shatter and the future brightens for everyone,” said Pelka. “That is what we believe here at Une Femme and what we have experienced firsthand since partnering with Delta, who have shown us what it truly means to lift as they climb.”
Write it Up, Inc.: New York City, New York
In 2018, Delta partnered with Write It Up, Inc., a New York-based writing and strategic communications firm to support LaGuardia Airport’s $4 billion redevelopment of Terminal C and the $1.5 billion redevelopment of Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy International Airport.
The firm played a crucial role in developing impactful messaging and collateral materials that effectively communicated the vision and progress of these redevelopment efforts. This collaboration not only enhanced Delta's communication strategies but also enabled Write It Up, Inc. to build strong, lasting relationships within the aviation industry and the New York construction community. Through this partnership, both Delta and Write It Up, Inc. have demonstrated the power of strategic collaboration in driving progress and innovation.
“It’s gratifying to see our work contribute to the creation of state-of-the-art terminals that elevate the travel experience for millions of passengers,” said Jamillah Wright, CEO and Founder of Write It Up, Inc. “We are honored to have contributed to the transformation of LGA and JFK airports and look forward to continuing to support initiatives that benefit both the aviation industry and broader community.”
